I know this one is fairly popular in certain areas of the world – but I’ll be damned if it doesn’t sound like someone who has a stuffed up nose trying to say something.

Or is it a daughter of Twilight, a ‘Renesmee’?

That's it. September 24, 2011 at 10:12 am

Sounds like they sneezed when they named it.

I like the name but spelled Esmée (the correct female spelling, Esme is the masculine French spelling, though I hope boys aren’t named it). I pronounce it “ez-may” (just clarifiying because most Americans think it’s “ez-mee”). I guess it can sound sneaze like but it’s my first daughters middle name because when her father was away for the Army he sent me “For Esmé-With Love & Squalor” by J. D. Salinger and I thought it was really sweet and meaningful, plus the name means Beloved.

It’s not short for Esmerelda?

It’s great as a middle name, and only as a middle name if your circumstances are like those of Jenny. But a a disgusting and vomit inducing name otherwise.
