Wow.  Talk about setting a kid up for failure.

“This is my friend Nemesis.”  Wait–wha?!?

Actually this name is awesome. Nemesis doesn’t mean what you think it does… go look up the greek goddess… It means ‘divine justice’.

Actually, nemesis means EXACTLY what I think it does:

plural nem·e·ses
a : one that inflicts retribution or vengeance
b : a formidable and usually victorious rival or opponent

Damn it I can’t hold back any further; shut the hell up, Antonia, and stop defending shitty names because “in this one country/place it makes perfect sense”. I love mythology, but I’m not going to name my kid something shitty like Nemesis, aka the goddess of REVENGE. Nemesis is also another word for archenemy, villain, rival, and antagonist. What a great name! So stop with the holier than thou attitude and stop defending shitty names without understanding the context!!

I actually would like to have the name Nemesis or Artemis. It doesn’t mean they are stupid because they are UNUSUAL.

No it doesn’t. But those are fucking stupid.
