As you may know, I’m totally against the state names for kids (with the exception of Virginia and Georgia, which have been long established as acceptable names), but even if you MUST name your kid after a state — why the FUCK would you name it after the most boring state in the country? ¬†Only Kansas would be worse.

My current grade two class in Toronto includes:

Dakota (boy)
Montana (girl)
and Ida Ho. (Chinese girl – not kidding)

Last year was Dakota, Mackenzie and Dublin. (Mackenzie being a large river in Canada.)

Thankfully no one has been daring enough to name their child Saskatchewan.

When I was in K-6 there was a girl at my school named Kansas. I kid you not. Oh, and I live in Canada, which makes this even worse.

Well, Idaho and Pennslyvania might be worse

Well, with Idaho and Pennsylvania, you can use Ida and Penny as nicknames. What do you call Utah? Ute?
