Good God Clothilde is an awful sounding AND looking  name!  The poor, poor child that ends up collared with this one is in for a lifetime of anguish.

Jesus.  I just read that the only way to pronounce this name is by slitting your throat, pouring a handful of gravel into the open neck wound and then rapidly shredding at the opening with a cheese grater.

Ok, the description of this name is hilarious…

Agree – hate this name… but like Mathilda, the th = t
therefore, Clothilde = Clo-tild-ah
Still ugly

It’s actually pretty when pronounced correctly, kind of like [clo-TEAL], but it’s best done in a French or Cajun French accent. I knew a girl with this name, and I loved hearing it pronounced correctly, but it’s usually NOT, so it is virtually unusable (except in places they can make the correct sounds, lol).
