Adrasteia

by Lemonjello Redenbacher on December 8, 2009

I found a lady that *loves* this name.  She thinks it’s beautiful.  She just fell in love with it.  Fucking LOVES it.

That’s nice…until she asks everyone how to pronounce it.

What the fuck did you fall in love with…the letters?  Apparently you’ve never heard it spoken out loud, so did you like the alphabetical construction?  My guess is you loved the fact that if you pinned it on your little precious, she’d be the only one with that name.  And, of course, if that’s the case it doesn’t matter what it sounds like, right?

I think it’s a pretty name, too, at least pronounced the way I believe to be correct. I would never burden my child with it though. Adrasteia fits much better to a gold fish or something like that.

Great name! Very easy to pronounce (a-dra-stay-a)
Greek mythology. And if you can’t accept Greek/Roman mythological names, you have to lose Jason, Diane, Julian, Nicholas, Christopher, Phoebe, Cyril, Phillip, Homer, Felix, Antony, Thea, Alexander, Julia, Lucia/Lucy, Paul, Andrea etc cos they’re all Greek or Roman.

I adore Adrasteia. The meaning is wonderful “the inescapable”. As Lady Justice this is a powerful name to bestow on any girl. Thumbs up Antonia!

So, after you finish that lemon jello, get your booty to the dance floor and shake what your mama gave ya! Then you can tell me you do not like my name to my face, player!

I’m not sure what all of that means, but your name sucks.
