This lady is considering this name for her son, but she admits she’s, “afraid there might be too many hassles that go along with having that name. Will people know how to spell and pronounce it?”

No.  No they won’t.  You’re right to be afraid — the name sucks.

you suck! haha my son is name marek and people love the name. our family is polish and my name is mark. marek is the polish version of mark.

My son is named Marek and people love it. It’s a common form of Mark throughout the slavic areas of eastern Europe. A mere 50 years ago, the name Eric was virtually unheard of. Erik was only known from a few old norse, and Eric didn’t exist as a name.

Knew two Marik. But never spelled with an E. But I think that’s more a region thing.
