Briar

by Lemonjello Redenbacher on September 2, 2009

I actually knew a girl named Briar a long time ago, then I recently saw it again.  All these years later — it still sucks.

This is one of the least flattering female names that I have come across.  Just saying the word “briar” gives me goosebumps.  It makes me think of a razor sharp nature-needle, burrowing deep into my bare ankle.  Hence, when I meet a girl named Briar, I get the  same painful feeling.

Other pain-related names that one should stay away from are:

Surgery

Labotomy

Appendicitis

Fracture

Hemorrhage

Autopsy

You could add to your list the following painful things not to name your kid:

Castration, Colonoscopy, Herpes, Infection and Road Rash

“Lobotomy” sounds like something a Javanese family would use.
